Assessing pedagogical approaches to foster the comprehension and retention of new L2 Spanish idioms

This paper contains the experimental design of an empirical study that aims to assess relative effectiveness a number pedagogical approaches designed boost comprehension new L2 Spanish idioms and foster their retention. Building on previous (Ureña Tormo 2019), we suggest testing three treatments, with two them encouraging participants guess meaning target idioms, before or after receiving information semantic motivation, other one focusing inference from context. The units are 15 related range topics 90 English speaking learners Spanish. results obtain will allow for assessment each proposal, be compared ones obtained in Ureña (2019).
